How we are helping during the bushfires

We are devastated by the bushfires blazing around the country.
The loss of life, wildlife, property and nature is difficult to comprehend, let alone accept.
It has been, and will continue to be, a really trying time for everyone as we continue to be faced with these tragic circumstances for the foreseeable future.
The safety of our communities is the most important thing. Many of our staff, volunteers, centres and sites have been impacted by the bushfires and we are doing everything we can to support them during this time.
We’d like to thank the firefighters across the country who are bravely fighting to control the blazes. Some of these individuals are our own staff and our thoughts are with them during this physically and emotionally exhausting time.
The YMCA is not an emergency relief organisation, but we will play an important role in recovery phase, like the role we played after Black Saturday. Rebuilding communities and supporting families is what we do best.
